Yvonne Kendall was born in Birmingham, England in 1965, and emigrated to Australia with her parents at the age of 9. She studied sculpture at the Victoria College, in Melbourne, and completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1987.
She moved to Germany in 2000 where she lives and works.
Her work is mostly biographical, sometimes disarmingly honest, often humerous and whimsical. She predominantly works with found objects and household textiles to investigate social,spiritual, psychological and cultural themes.
She has exhibited widely throughout Australia and Europe, been awarded a number of prizes and grants and is represented in many international collections.
